Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is the seventh and final of the Harry Potter novels written by British author J. K. Rowling. The book was released on 21 July 2007, ending the series that began in 1997 with the publication of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. This book chronicles the events directly following Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2005), and leads to the long-awaited final confrontation between Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was published in the United Kingdom by Bloomsbury Publishing, in the United States by Scholastic, in Canada by Raincoast Books, and in Australia and New Zealand by Allen & Unwin. Released globally in ninety-three countries, Deathly Hallows broke sales records as the fastest-selling book ever. It sold 15 million copies in the first twenty-four hours following its release,[1] including more than 11 million in the U.S. and U.K. alone. The previous record, nine million in its first day, had been held by Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.[2] The novel has also been translated into numerous languages, including Ukrainian,[3] Swedish,[4] Polish[5] and Hindi.[6]

Several awards were given to the novel, including the 2008 Colorado Blue Spruce Book Award, and it was listed as a "Best Book for Young Adults" by the American Library Association.[7] Reception to the book was generally positive, although some reviewers found the characters to be repetitive or unchanging. A two-part film based on the novel is in the works, with part one's release date in November 2010.

THE DARK KNIGHT

The Dark Knight is a 2008 superhero crime thriller film directed and co-written by Christopher Nolan. Based on the DC Comics character Batman, the film is part of Nolan's Batman film series and a sequel to 2005's Batman Begins. Christian Bale reprises the lead role. The film follows Bruce Wayne/Batman (Bale), District Attorney Harvey Dent/Two-Face (Aaron Eckhart), Assistant D.A. Rachel Dawes (Maggie Gyllenhaal), and Police Commissioner James Gordon (Gary Oldman) and their struggles and journey in combating the new rising threat of a criminal who goes by the name of the "Joker" (Heath Ledger).

Nolan's inspiration for the film was the Joker's comic book debut in 1940, and the 1996 series The Long Halloween, which retold Two-Face's origin. The Dark Knight was filmed primarily in Chicago, as well as in several other locations in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Hong Kong. Nolan used an IMAX camera to film some sequences, including the Joker's first appearance in the film. On January 22, 2008, after he had completed filming The Dark Knight, Heath Ledger died from a toxic combination of prescription drugs, leading to intense attention from the press and moviegoing public. Warner Bros. had initially created a viral marketing campaign for The Dark Knight, developing promotional websites and trailers highlighting screen shots of Ledger as the Joker, but after Ledger's death, the studio refocused its promotional campaign.[2][3]

The film was released on July 16, 2008 in Australia, on July 18, 2008 in North America, and on July 24, 2008 in the United Kingdom. Before its box office debut in North America, record numbers of advance tickets were sold for The Dark Knight. It was greeted with positive reviews upon release,[4] and became only the second film to earn more than $500 million at the North American box office, setting numerous other records in the process. It is also the fifth highest grossing film worldwide, and the fourth of the only five films to earn more than $1 billion, worldwide.[5] The film received numerous awards nominations and two Academy Awards[6] for Best Sound Editing and Best Supporting Actor for Ledger's performance.

Sir Alex Ferguson has won more trophies than any other manager in English football and is considered one of the best in history.

Starting out as an apprentice tool-worker, Ferguson moved into to part-time football when he was 23. He turned professional and joined Dunfermline in 1964 where he played as a centre forward. But after an unsuccessful spell at Glasgow Rangers and further moves to Falkirk and Ayr United, he gave up playing ten years later to become a manager. He cut his teeth with East Stirling and St Mirren before moving to Aberdeen in 1978. Managing to break the old firm monopoly, Ferguson won the title in 1979/80, 1983/84 and 1984/85. His feat of winning the Cup Winners Cup against Real Madrid in 1983 will also go down as one of his proudest managerial achievements.

Manchester United came calling in 1986 and after a slow start, he won his first trophy with the Red Devils, the 1990 FA Cup against Crystal Palace in the final. His next mission was to end the club's 26-year title draught. He achieved just that, but not before winning another Cup Winners Cup in 1991. His first title arrived in the inaugural 1992/93 Premier League season, and he backed that up with the first of his doubles the next campaign.

Liverpool FC

Liverpool have maintained their status as a domestic and European force since the Premier League began in 1992, rarely finishing outside the top positions. The club have won seven major trophies since then, including the Champions League, Uefa Cup, two FA Cups and three League Cups.

Indeed, 2001 saw the Reds claim an unprecedented League Cup, FA Cup and Uefa Cup treble. Having won more domestic and European trophies than any other English club, Liverpool's status as giants of the domestic game is undisputed.

Under Rafa Benitez, Liverpool have secured Champions League football in each of the last five seasons. The Spaniard won the competition in 2005 and guided the club to an appearance in the final two years later where they were beaten 2-1 by AC Milan. They lost to Chelsea in the quarter-finals of the competition last season and secured a second place finish in the league.

Bhiogrhapy of green day

Green Day is an American rock trio formed in 1987.[1] The band has consisted of Billie Joe Armstrong (vocals, guitar), Mike Dirnt (bass guitar, vocals), and Tré Cool (drums, percussion) for the majority of its existence.
Green Day was originally part of the punk rock scene at 924 Gilman Street in Berkeley, California. The band's early releases for independent record label Lookout! Records earned it a grassroots fanbase, some of whom felt alienated when the band signed to a major label.[2] Nevertheless, its major label debut Dookie (1994) became a breakout success and eventually sold over 10 million copies in the U.S. and 15 million worldwide.[3] As a result, Green Day was widely credited, alongside fellow California punk bands The Offspring and Rancid, with reviving mainstream interest in and popularizing punk rock in the United States.[4][5] Green Day's three follow-up albums, Insomniac, Nimrod and Warning did not achieve the massive success of Dookie, but they were still successful, reaching double platinum, double platinum, and gold status respectively.[6] Green Day's 2004 rock opera American Idiot reignited the band's popularity with a younger generation, selling five million copies in the U.S.[7] The band's eighth studio album, 21st Century Breakdown, was released on May 15, 2009.
Green Day has sold over 22 million records in the United States.[8] They have won three Grammy Awards; Best Alternative Album for Dookie, Best Rock Album for American Idiot, Record of the Year for "Boulevard of Broken Dreams".

BFMV biography

Since their inception in 2003, the Welsh quartet Bullet for My Valentine have been taking cues from '80s metal bands and the punk-infused metal of the new millennium to make melodic, dark rock with, well, metal tendencies. Coming from Bridgend, South Wales -- breeding ground for the likeminded Funeral for a Friend and LostProphets -- the group consists of childhood friends Matthew Tuck (vocals/guitar), Michael Padget (guitar/vocals), Jason James (bass/vocals), and Michael Thomas (drums). Everyone in the group, except James, had been performing together for a few years in Jeff Killed John, when the day before entering the recording studio, their bassist abruptly walked out.

Regrouping under the new name Bullet for My Valentine with James on board, the guys reworked their sound and were signed at their second gig by London's Visible Noise. They released a self-titled EP in the U.K. in November 2004, and their debut full-length, The Poison, appeared that next fall. May 2005 saw the band sign to the U.S.-based Trustkill, re-releasing their EP, titled Hand of Blood, in August. That same year they won Kerrang!'s Best British Newcomer Award and headlined the magazine's XXV tour. With February 2006 came the U.S. release of The Poison, followed by a nationwide tour in support of Rob Zombie before Bullet for My Valentine headed back to the U.K. in June for their third stint at the Download Festival. The band released its second album, Scream Aim Fire, in 2008. ~ Corey Apar, All Music Guide
Inter striker Goran Pandev admits the Italian champions had to dig deep to avoid defeat at Serie A newcomers Bari last night but the result will boost their morale ahead of next week’s derby clash with second-placed AC Milan.

Inter fought back from 2-0 down in the second half in Puglia to earn a 2-2 draw thanks to Pandev’s first goal for the Nerazzurri and a Diego Milito spot-kick.

“It was a difficult match,” Pandev told Sky Sport Italia.

“We gave our all to get back into it. We went down like has already happened a few other times, but we saw a great Inter in the final 30 minutes.

“And we could have even won it in the end had lady luck smiled on us. We wanted the three points, but this is nonetheless a precious point.

“And we will now face Milan safe in the knowledge that we are top of the table.”

Inter will play host to their cross-city rivals next Sunday after triumphing 4-0 in the reverse fixture back in August.
